Francesco Berrilli graduated in Physics at the University of Rome defending a thesis on the construction of an IR bolometer and the observation of PMS stars. In the 80s he worked on semantic algorithms and relational databases. In 1989 he was a researcher at the Physics Dept. of the University of Rome Tor Vergata where he worked on the first CCD digital image acquisition systems. He participates in the design and construction of the IPM and IBIS interferometers (Tenerife and Sacramento Peak). He becomes Associate (2004) and Full Professor (2020) dealing with digital control and acquisition systems, Data Analysis, Sun, Sun-Earth relations and Space Weather. He is visiting Researcher at IfA (Univ. Of Hawaii) and at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. PI of the ADAHELI proposal, one of the missions selected by ASI “Small Missions” and PI of Sun CubE OnE (SEE), a mission selected in the CubeSat call. The Minor Planet Center designates the asteroid 7918 = 1981 EJ22 with the name Berrilli. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.
